Church Wilne Rotary welcomed District Governor Martyn Bye, who had joined us as a Marshall at the Horse Ride, to its recent 14th Annual Horse ride Presentation Evening, at Trent Lock Golf Club. A wonderful carvery meal was enjoyed by all. Joining us on the night were sponsors, landowners, farmers and guests who have played a valued role in supporting our event this year, as well as representatives from our 3 charities. The club presented three cheques totalling £6,300 to: John Bown representing Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Children's Air Ambulance and Tim Spalding, Trustee and Operational Team Member from Derby Mountain Rescue, whose team helped Marshall the event and provided essential first aid support. Cheryl Morris who is the Community Relationships Manager for the Treetops Hospice Care, who with her team also marshalled our event, could not be with us and the cheque will be presented later. |
