During the course of the year Mike Key, Tim Barker and myself went to the Rotary Club of Tarporley, Cheshire in order to discuss the way they had organised an annual horse ride. This was the beginnings of our event which started in Richards year.

We played Long Eaton at snooker and remember the trophy disappearing and reappearing Long Eaton's direction after we had won!

The year started with a brand new member just one week into the Rotary year. Stephen Woolley joined the club on July 11th, 2005. We had four other members join us Stephen Woolley, Derek Sheehy-Smith. Martin Green, David Down.

A major fundraising event was at Erewash Golf Club on October 21st, the 200th Anniversary of the battle of Trafalgar. A "Trafalgar Dinner" took place with a guest speaker Lieutenant colonel Alan Wilson gave us an interesting incite into the battle. We raised a considerable amount of money for Rainbows Hospice and a donation was also made to the King George’s Fund for Sailors.

John Cox, Mick White and myself hosted a group study exchange group for a week end of activities.

Somerfied Christmas collection on a very cold winter'sday.

Enjoying Christmas dinner with wives at Erewash Golf Club in the company of my sponsor Neil, his wife Lesley also not forgetting my wife Sue.

Several Club members joined me in a visit to Rainbows Hospice during their annual open day in February, 2006.

Sunday June 25th the first time we took part in the Derbyshire County show. Graham Markwell organised the event for us and many Rotarians backed up the project with their time and effort.
